Almanac Cycling

Cycling clothes can be beautiful. I started this because I wanted somewhere to care about that properly.

I spend an unreasonable amount of time looking at cycling clothes. Not because I need more of them, and definitely not because I care about every new fabric or marginal gain, but because every so often somebody gets it exactly right: a brown that looks incredible next to navy, a jersey with just enough texture, a rain jacket you would actually choose to put on. Those are the things I remember.

The Edits are how I collect them. I start with one piece or one colour I cannot stop thinking about and build the rest of the kit around it, because that is how I get dressed for a ride anyway. A jersey can be beautiful by itself and still look completely wrong with the bibs. A rain jacket can be technically perfect and ruin everything underneath it. I care about the whole thing, including what happens when the temperature drops halfway through the ride and the layer in your pocket suddenly matters.

There are plenty of places that will tell you what launched this week or which jersey saves three watts. I am happy they exist, but Almanac is not trying to be one of them. I want to find the pieces that make me want to ride because I can already picture wearing them, and then keep them here long after the next collection has arrived.
